Recycling helps to save resources and the environment. The Trust has a number of recycling schemes available for the public, which are outlined below along with information on other recycling schemes.
Bag Back Boxes
To encourage the reuse of plastic bags, the Trust supply free of charge bag back boxes for use in shops, community buildings, schools, etc. Unwanted plastic bags can be collected in the box for others to reuse. If you would like a free box please contact us.
End of Life Vehicles and Agricultural Scrap
The Trust offers a free of charge service to uplift and recycle redundant vehicles and agricultural scrap. For more information on this service click here.
The Trust's Architectural Heritage Team reuse prime building materials, such as flagstones, slates, etc. These items are used in a variety of projects but particularly in the restoration of the islands historic buildings. If you have any items you think the Trust may be interested in, please contact the Architectural Heritage Project Officer.
Recycling of Printer and Photocopier Cartridges
Due to logistical reasons, the Trust no longer provides a centralised recycling facility for printer and photocopier cartridges. However, there are many recycling schemes available to individuals and organisations and we would encourage you to use these. Details of some of the schemes can be found on the Cartridge Recycling Fact Sheet.
