Our mission is to safeguard, enhance, and promote Shetland's heritage, ensuring it is accessible to be enjoyed by all.
We rely on the generous support of our funders and supporters to continue our work on behalf of Shetland. Everything we do is about caring for Shetland's outstanding natural and cultural heritage on behalf of the community and for future generations. . Donations are welcomed to support our work.
We care for Shetland's natural heritage, recording our biodiversity, caring for the environment, restoring peatlands, planting trees, recycling scrap cars, cleaning beaches, developing path networks and much more.
We also care for Shetland's cultural heritage, recording and safeguarding our archaeology, history and heritage, caring for our heritage buildings, delivering Shetland's Museum and Archives Service, and supporting our heritage community.
We work hard to promote and share our heritage and enable people to engage with it through events such as Shetland Wool Week, and deliver activities, visitor attractions, online activity and more.
