Woodlands
The Woodlands section of Shetland Amenity Trust has been in operation since 1985. Its aims are:
- Conservation of native, relict and endemic vegetation to Shetland (trees, shrubs and flowering plants)
- Propagation of suitable tree stock for Shetland and native tree bank
- Restoration re-establishment of native trees in Shetland
- Woodland creation support
- Woodland care
The Horticultural unit is powered by a wind turbine with the aim to reduce our carbon emission.
