Volunteering opportunities

Various tasks are undertaken at the Horticultural unit, from sowing to pricking out. But also outdoors, from seed collection, to woodland care and tree planting. Some activities happen regularly and some are on off events. Please, if you are interested to participate in our conservation work, gain hands-on experience or just want to have some fun outdoors, register as a volunteer by contacting info@shetlandamenity.org.

Pricking out will be an activity for which we require a lot of help. It takes place every year from end of March to early May. The work consist to transfer seedlings into the root trainer, where they will grow into healthy saplings.
