Current Vacancies

Set up 40 years ago and dedicated to Shetland’s heritage in all its forms, Shetland Amenity Trust is going through a transition period.    We aim to provide excellent services and opportunities to the community and build an organisation where staff can thrive and their skills are valued.

Shetland Amenity Trust is a Fair Work employer, paying the Real Living Wage, supporting flexible working practices, staff engagement and workforce development.   We offer good annual leave entitlement and access to a generous defined benefit pension scheme.

Natural Heritage Manager

An opportunity exists to join the senior management team of Shetland Amenity Trust to shape Shetland’s heritage future.  The postholder will be responsible for helping to protect Shetland’s rich natural heritage, including flora, fauna, habitats and geology and promoting initiatives which halt biodiversity loss.   The postholder will be at the forefront of developing environmental improvement initiatives and nature-based solutions to address climate change challenges.

With a passion for Shetland’s natural heritage and a degree in a relevant discipline, the Trust is looking for an experienced individual to manage staff, services, partnerships and contracts.   The Trust’s approach is rooted in the community so an understanding of community development principles, working with people and communities, is essential.
