Shetland Amenity Trust hopes to take on graduates
Published: 30 July 2018
Shetland Amenity Trust, keen to explore the possibility of bringing graduates to live and work in the islands, is offering two graduate placements in key areas of its operations. These posts would be part of the ScotGrad Programme and would be part-funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.
The posts would deal with tourism development and property development respectively and offer exciting opportunities to work on projects which are important not only to the Trust but to Shetland as a whole.
The Trust hopes that these would be the first of a series of placements which will help to build the organisation’s capacity as well as persuading graduates that Shetland is a wonderful place to stay and build their career.
Trust CEO Mat Roberts said “Graduates are the lifeblood of a professional business and Shetland Amenity Trust wishes to be Shetland’s graduate employer of choice.” The posts are currently live on the ScotGrad website on the following links:

Tourism Development Coordinator
The Trust would encourage anybody who feels that they would like to spend a year in a beautiful place working for an interesting and diverse organisation to give it a go. If there is interest from graduates, and provided that a workable financial package can be put together, it is hoped that the successful candidates could be in post in the autumn.
