Shetland Amenity Trust appoints new Chief Executive

Mat Roberts Mat RobertsZoomThe Trustees of the Shetland Amenity Trust are pleased to announce their appointment of Mat Roberts as the Trust’s Chief Executive Officer.

Mat has worked for many years across a range of sectors including commercial, public and charitable. Most recently he worked for Interserve PLC as their Group Director of Sustainability Strategy.  He brings many decades of experience of the charitable sector to his new role and is currently a trustee of The Prince’s Countryside Fund, the National Association of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Cynnal Cymru (Sustain Wales).  

Ruth MacKenzie, Chair of the Shetland Amenity Trust said:

 “We are delighted to welcome Mat to the Trust.  His very broad range of experience across public, private and charitable work will enable the Trust to move forward.”

 Mat Roberts said:

“I am very pleased to join an organisation with such an established pedigree, fantastic facilities and committed staff.”

Mat is married to a Shetlander and he, his wife and two daughters moved back to Shetland in the spring of 2017.
