Shetland Amenity Trust and the Shetland Peat Restoration Services Team are nearing the end of their third season of work at Girlsta funded by Peatland ACTION. Machines are still on site and this will be a great opportunity to see what the work involves and the transformation that the peatland has undergone.

Shetland Amenity Trust has facilitated the restoration of degraded peatlands in Shetland for eight years, with around 400ha now restored. We work with local landowners to improve and repair bogs and to raise awareness of the value of these bogs and how people can get involved. Peatland ACTION has funded 15 projects in Shetland.
