Fantastic day at Sumburgh Head

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Sumburgh Head a few weeks ago to celebrate the start of the 2023 season. We had a fantastic day! There was a great atmosphere around the site, the sun shone for us, and - as if on cue - the puffins returned to the cliffs.  

We enjoyed meeting our competition winners and hearing Freya Binns sound the foghorn to mark the occasion. 

It was lovely to see new visitors as well as so many familiar faces turning out to support us and the site. Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket, support is really important for the future of Sumburgh Head Lighthouse and Visitor Centre – it’s great value too as they're valid all season and provide access to the Engine Room, Smiddy and Marine Life Centre.
