Become a Trustee
We are looking for new Trustees
Becoming a Trustee can be an incredibly rewarding and valuable experience and is open to anyone who is keen to make a difference and to help care for Shetland's heritage.
What is the role of a Trustee?
The role of a charity trustee is extremely important and can be very rewarding. There are over 250,000 trustees across the country who help manage, shape and guide charities and voluntary sector organisations.
As a Trustee your role is to help lead, control and supervise the organisation’s activities. You can find out more about the role of a Trustee on the Scottish Charity Regulators website, OSCR.
Being a Trustee for Shetland Amenity Trust
Our Trustees meet every couple of months and the time commitment is approximately 3 hours per month. We are currently considering moving to evening meetings and also have the facility to meet 'virtually' so please do not be put off if you have commitments during the day or are not living in Shetland full-time.
We are looking for people with a range of knowledge and skills from business and financial experience to heritage and community. We welcome all ages and levels of experience.
