Alastair Hamilton

Alastair has lived in Shetland for more than 40 years and served as the islands' chief planning officer. He has undertaken many projects, pursuing the creation of a new museum and archive, the regeneration of Lerwick's waterfront, the use of historic buildings as visitor accommodation and design guidance for new housing; he is as enthusiastic as ever about securing and interpreting Shetland's heritage.  Alastair has also been involved in the Children's Hearings system, at local or national levels, for more than 20 years.
