Nominations Sought for Inspiring Award

Published: 25 January 2013

Shetland Museum and Archives Shetland Museum and ArchivesZoomShetland Museum and Archives are seeking public nominations for the title of the UK's most inspiring Museum. The Guardian Cultural Professionals Network has teamed up with the Museums and Heritage Awards for 2013/2/13 to award this accolade.

Whether visitors are inspired by the beautiful dockside setting, the amazing textile or maritime collections or just the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the buliding, eveyone is encouraged to nominate Shetland Museum and Archives for this award.

During 2012, almost 90,000 visitors came through the doors. Many visited for the unparalleled displays and information about Shetland and it's unique heritage and culture, while many others came along to see the ever changing exhibitions in Da Gadderie, or the fabulous Egyptian Cat. Whatever the reason for the visit, Shetland Museum and Archives is an inspirational venue for young and old alike and staff would encourage everyone to get online and nominate them for this award.

Nominations are free to submit, and close on Friday 11th February.
