Members of the Autumn Birds Course spot a group of Waxwings at ExnaboeZoomSBRC ran an Autumn birds course on Sunday 21st October. The group spotted 71 different species on one day alone - this beat the previous record of sightings over 2 days!
There are no further courses planned for 2012, but keep an eye on this events page for details of courses planned in 2013. The Biological Records Centre facebook page will also list details of upcoming events. Like the page to be kept up to date.
Common Seal Study
Common Seal, photograph Jim NicolsonZoomLocal photographer Jim Nicolson recently encountered this Common Seal at Sandsayre. Photographs of the seal, which showed the animal to be sporting an orange, numbered tag on its hind flipper, were sent to Shetland Biological Records Centre. Read more details on the story.
